Why did Mom leave us? I don't understand. I know they used to yell and fight a lot but I never thought she would leave. Maybe it is my fault. Maybe I was too bad so she left. If I am just good enough, maybe she will come back! Every day I hope she will come home but she doesn't. Dad says she is a terrible mother but I think she is a good Mom. When Mom calls she says she will see me soon and she would see me more if Dad would just let her. I don't understand. I just don't understand and I miss my Mom.

What happened to the love we had when we first met? What happened to the good times we had, the hopes for our future, the ideas of growing old together? Maybe we won't be together when our children marry or when our grandchildren are born. How did we get here? And what do we DO? We've tried everything to make the marriage happier and it never lasts. Now there is an affair. Can I ever fogive? it seems hopeless....
An elderly man
I don't know how much longer I can take care of my wife. I'm so tired and lonely. We've had such a good life together and she nursed me through my heart attack and recovery. We have raised three beautiful children together. Don't I owe it to take care of her as the Alzheimer's worsens? I didn't expect my retirement to be like this and now the doctor says I have to slow down or risk another attack. What do I do? I can't talk it over with her because she can't understand any more. Where do I turn? What do I do? Who can I talk to about this? I'd feel so guilty if I put her in one of those "Places" full of old sick people. I wish the kids lived closer...
